What "loved" means at work
People tend to love a workplace for reasons that can be named: they can speak up, they are treated fairly, they can progress, they know why decisions are made and they trust the people they work for. Those are conditions, not perks, and they can be examined.
That is how WCRC Culture Crest uses the word. A loved workplace is one that does well on those conditions, which are the five pillars of the WCRC Equity Index.
And a valuable workplace
A valuable workplace is one where the conditions people work in demonstrably create value, for the people who work there and for the enterprise that employs them, and where that value is shared fairly enough to last. Read more in What is a valuable workplace?.
A workplace can be loved without being valuable, for example if people are content but the enterprise does not thrive, and valuable without being loved. The essay A loved workplace and a valuable one are not the same thing sets out the difference.

How India's Most Loved 250 Workplaces 2026 measures it
India's Most Loved 250 Workplaces 2026 ranks 250 large employers in India: 149 Indian companies and the India operations of 101 multinationals. Each is scored on the five pillars from four streams of published evidence, then given a composite score and a band. The method is on the methodology page.
It is a ranking from outside. It shows how a workplace reads from published evidence, not how it feels to work there day to day. For that, see the Workplace Analysis.
